How do I use the Advent Theater House? The Advent Theater House comes as flat heavy-weight cardboard pieces. Build the playhouse with your StoryMakers using the included washi tape, and feel free to add any other supplies you have on hand (fairy lights are always a must!) to enhance your stage. Next, pop out the characters, open your included playbook, and spark your imagination by playing all the parts. Leave the Advent Theater up all Advent long to encourage connection.
Why are some of the characters animals? At StoryMakers our goal is to spark faith through the imagination. What better way to do that than adding a touch of whimsy! When you open your Advent Theater House, you’ll notice classic depictions of the Holy Family, but all of the other characters have been assigned animals native to Jesus’ homeland. Use these animal characters to spark curiosity with your StoryMakers!
How big is the Advent Theater House? The Advent Theater House ships in a box that is 16 x 13 x 2 inches. Your constructed theater is 7x 4x 9.75 inches–the perfect size to keep under the Christmas tree or table for the whole Advent season.
What ages is the Advent Theater House intended for? The Advent Theater House is the perfect way for kids, teens, and grown-ups from ages 1 to 100 to play all the parts and spark connection during the Advent season.
What stories are included in the playbook? The Advent Theater playbook includes four scripts to take you through each week of the Advent season:
Week one: A Tale of Hope—the story of Zechariah and Elizabeth
Week two: The Prince of Peace—Angel Gabriel and Mary
Week three: A Story of Joy—The shepherds hear great news
Week four: The Gift of Love—King Herod and the Magi

The next gen activity in its finest form! I got this for our nieces and nephews, two families, and they are obsessed with this. I also received a free one for our growing family from Melina at church :)

I purchased The Advent Theater House for a friend who runs a parish with children of all ages. Bible stories can be great for youngsters to learn and act out on the stage and they can then become a jumping off point for older kids to create their own stories. Incredibly imaginative, a great resource for busy parish leaders at a great price.

Wonderful gift for my goddaughter!
The concept and art really are beautiful and interesting. Some of my favorite nativity art I’ve ever seen. My one concern is that the design of the actual pieces and structure could use improvement. I was hoping to use this for more than just this year, but the flaps connecting the back of the stage to the front are already coming apart after being folded. The most frustrating part, however, is that many of the characters/pieces can’t stand on their own. The bases aren’t snug enough, and the bottom of the pieces don’t align or aren’t wide enough to stand. This can be especially frustrating for kids who want to help set up the scenes and participate. The star/narrator is especially impossible to use with the stand. Also, some of the cutting on the pieces was off—one of the birds in a background scene falls out completely because the legs aren’t actually cut out of the cardboard.
However, the idea is great and the packaging is also beautiful. It arrived quickly and I love the choice of stories. I love how open-ended it is and I love the colors. Truly could be an outstanding product with some changes!
