Have you heard of me?
I am the Holy Spirit. You may know me as the “fiery” one in the Holy Trinity. After Pentecost, I got a reputation. Some think of me as “tongues of fire,” because when I dropped in on the people, flames appeared and people began speaking many languages. Pentecost was pretty epic!
Here’s the thing: Although this isn’t what people always think of me when they hear the name “Holy Spirit,” my main thing is being a COMFORTER. I am here to help you remember that the promises of God are true and worth hanging on to. I know humans are pretty forgetful. You need a little nudge from time to time to remember that we got you. You can trust that you will never be left on your own, no matter what.
I am always with you…so next time your are afraid or nervous in the belly, know that you are never alone and if you forget just say a little prayer, like this...
Holy Spirit, thank you for reminding me I am never alone, especially when I am afraid or really nervous. Give me your peace and comfort when I need it most. Amen.
